Ch 22, 23

In the late 1990’s it is shown how much global expansion has occurred in response to the technological boom.  Now everyone all around the world is able to connect with one another without having to set foot outside.  The world and it’s goods are now more readily available to be sold.  Regular people with many things within their homes were able to become business owners.  More and more people joined the .com business realm in hopes to get rich quick.  I remember this time because my parents were always talking about the .com world and everything it has to offer.  We then got a computer, with this computer I was able to learn all the stuff that I did not need to know about.  Then youtube came about and videos that had no business being made became available to the world.  How we were speaking in class about this time being the end of the modern era is right.  All we have to do is reach into our pocket and have the world in the palm of our hands with the smart phones that are so readily available.  There are three year olds in strollers with ipads learning their ABC’s.  That was definitely not the way that I learned them.

With all things that were going good there always is a time when something will happen causing everything to burst to get back to a more even pace.  That is when the housing bubble popped causing many families to lose their homes.  Even with all of this technology and knowledge we still went through another depression.  The domino effect that the collapse of the housing market in America to all over the world was terrifying to read about.  People jobs were gone in a blink of an eye.  Already struggling families were put in tighter situations that they could not afford to be a part of.  Now that we are closing this era of uncertainty I hope we are going to open up in another era which will have a much more stable and fair purpose for everyone.  It is tiring working two jobs and still not being able to make it.
